You'd need to add a view to layerindex/views.py (see DistroSearchView for the distro one that you should be able to mostly copy and modify). You'll also need to add a branch-specific URL handler in layerindex/urls_branch.py so that it's accessible. The templates for generating the HTML are in templates/layerindex - you'll need to create a new template and search for distro_search to see where you'd need to add links to the URL for the new search page.
