    <thetext>asciidoc is dead upstream now [1] and won&apos;t move to Python 3, so we should consider packaging the official replacement asciidoctor [2].  Annoyingly this is now written in Ruby, so we either give up and add Ruby to the host dependencies, or ruby-native is going to be more important in builds.

[1] https://github.com/asciidoc/asciidoc/releases/tag/8.6.10.  Which is also a version we don&apos;t package so we should upgrade first.  We&apos;ll want to cherry-pick [3] though.
