We are currently searching for the partition by filesystem label, as grub does not support GPT PARTUUID/PARTLABEL IDs. This works fine on EXT4, but unfortunately, filesystems like squashfs do not have labels or UUIDs, and presents a problem if we are to move to it. Grub-2.02 seems to be able to handle LVM PV and LV partitions by name fine.
