Core-image-sato-sdk from http://autobuilder03.jf.intel.com/pub/nightly-meta-intel/20121011-1/ fails to detect keyboard. Mouse is fully functional.

The same poky commit, core-image-sato-sdk from http://autobuilder03.jf.intel.com/pub/nightly-meta-intel/20121010-2/ does not present the keyboard issue.</thetext>

    <thetext>Is this the live image?

Does the keyboard work in Syslinux?

Does the keyboard work in GRUB?

You mentioned in IM that it didn't work on the console nor in X.

Does the num-lock key work?

If none of the above work, please try inserting a USB 2.0 Hub into the host usb port on the FRI2 and connecting the keyboard to the hub. Does it work then?

Which firmware are you using? The Kontron supplied BIOS or the Intel provided Fastboot UEFI firmware?</thetext>

<thetext>Live and installed image, the same behavior is encountered.
In Grub, the keyboard is functional.
During Yocto boot, the NumLock key becomes non functional.
Also tried inserting the keyboard directly into the usb/micro usb or usb hub but I get the same result.
I set up the DHCP connection via connman and I was able to SSH into the FRI2.
No dmesg errors other than the PowerButton one.

I was able to get some logs from the moment when the keyboard was disconnected:

The meta-intel commit ID is the same for both images: 5d8a05811101f7d69994f4028ec620c4480f6da4 on danny branch.

Hope this helps.

<thetext>Well, seems that the same issue returns under dylan branch, commit ID:789b2b7e0cca404ff8ba8ed5ba823d215e6ba5b4
Meta-intel commit ID: 76f70c337e5daa9593153dfdf5107aec08610a44

Under GRUB everything works fine, but as soon as Yocto boots, the keyboard becomes inactive.
Not the same about the mouse, which works fine.
The reboot doesn't solve the issue.
dmesg shows that the keyboard is detected.

<thetext>This is either a major USB fail (firmware or OS) or something is misconfigured in the kernel or udev. The kernel could be FRI2 specific, udev should not be, firmware is. Have you seen anything like this on other BSPs?

Can you look in /proc/config.gz for the INPUT configs?
