Currently the extension is mainly used in remote tools plug-in. To allow supporting other remote communication, e.g. in bitbake commander and ADT for remote projects interaction, we need to refactor the code to create a common remote communication utility plug-in that other feature plugins that need to do remote communication just to include these plug-in in the dependence list. With my patch attached to bug 6251 , the org.yocto.bc.ui plug-in is updated to using the new API.
