In the "Network" tab of the Hob "Settings" dialog, select the "Manual proxy configuration" option 2. Enter some dummy proxy server information 3. Then select the "Direct network connection" option 3. Click "Save" This will add the dummy proxy server information to your local.conf file and also the following 2 lines: #added by bitbake enable_proxy = "False" 4. Change to the CLI and build something Outcome: your build will fail with a fetcher failure because bitbake is trying to use the proxy server. In fact, if you then launch Hob and check the status of the Network tab in the Settings dialog, the "Manual proxy configuration" option is now selected.
