Description Daniela Plascencia 2016-10-25 20:30:20 UTC
When using core-image-sato (genericx86-64) on the NUC6 running a 4.1.33 kernel the OS freezes a few minutes (or seconds) after the boot sequence is completed.

This seems to happen only when using the graphical interface, we haven't been able to reproduce it when switching to another virtual terminal.

The same image seems to work fine with kernel 4.4 and 4.8.

error after crash

This does not seem to happen on 4.1.32, but after running the same image on qemu, I got the following error, it looks like that it is Xorg related after all.

Sadly I can't look any further, and see the whole backtrace at the moment.

Please test with intel-corei7-64 for another data, since it's likely we will drop suppport for 2.3
Comment 4 Saul Wold 2016-11-30 18:00:44 UTC
please test this again with i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 on kernel command line

Closing this ticket as a not a bug as issue is not reproducible. Discussed with Ee Peng same.

Step 2 : Make Bootable image in USB stick and booted to NUC6
