Description Patrick Ohly 2016-11-02 15:01:17 UTC
rm_work.bbclass is not as efficient as it could be: because do_rm_work runs only after do_build of the current recipe and all recipes it depends on, recipes do not get cleaned as soon as possible. As a result, building OE-core with just 20GB times of disk space fails because required spaces exceeds that temporarily.

With enhancements it is possible to build OE-core with less than 20GB. Proof-of-concept code is in https://github.com/pohly/poky/commits/rmwork

Open question: a clean way of injecting do_rm_work into recipes is needed, which might depend on bitbake enhancements.
