Are you setting PRSERV_HOST in both builds in the local.conf file? If the recipe is version "r0", it sounds like the PR Server isn't enabled at all? I was setting the variable only on the shell environment. After setting it on local.conf on the second poky source and re-executing the test, the behavior is as expected. I'll close the ticket as invalid and mark the test case as passed. In addition, to ensure future tests are executed correctly, I added a note on the test case's steps specifying the change should be done on the local.conf file. STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. prepare 2 poky build environments
2. in one of the poky source, run "bitbake-prserv --start"
3. in the second poky source, set PRSERV_HOST to 127.0.0.1:8585
4. run "bitbake xcursor-transparent-theme" and then add following lines into xcursor-transparent-theme_${PV}.bb (/meta/recipes-graphics/xcursor-transparent-theme/xcursor-transparent-theme_git.bb)
6. Check the veriosn of "xcursor-transparent-theme" under tmp/deploy/rpm/all is r0.0
- example " xcursor-transparent-theme*-r0.0.all.rpm"
7. re-run "bitbake xcursor-transparent-theme", task do_packge for recipe xcursor-transparent-theme should be re-run
8. check the xcursor-transparent-theme package built out under deploy folder, the PR
number should bump up automatically
EXPECTED OUTCOME: PR number should bump up with remote server/local client mode
