Description Victor Rodriguez 2017-05-29 22:21:32 UTC
GLIBC 2.26 will have the patch x86: Set dl_platform and dl_hwcap from CPU features [BZ #21391]: https://sourceware.org/git/?p=glibc.git;a=commit;h=1432d38ea04ab5e96f21a382101856db5b49ad8a

Is possible to adopt this patch to yocto to catch optimized libraries for specific platforms
Comment 1 Joshua Lock 2017-06-01 14:57:49 UTC
Glibc 2.26 is due 2017-08-01[1] and YP 2.4 M3 closes 2017-08-21[2]. Based on past experience I'd expect Khem to have a glibc 2.6 series proposed for 2.4.

Indeed there already is a patch on kraj/master on openembedded-core-contrib repo
Which is tracking master of glibc soon to be 2.26 release
I will propose it after gcc7 is merged

FWIW the 2.4 Yocto Project release will have glibc 2.26

Yes, and the patch seems to be there, too.

Will verify more, though

I verified, we already have glibc 2.26 in 2.4 and the patch is there as well.
