Right now, we monitor disk space for a variety of directories like DL_DIR/SSTATE_DIR/TMP. Sometimes, builds fail due to other resource constraints (see Bug 11681 for example). Since the disk space check is a poll, it should be straightforward to extend this to other resources like
1) # processes
2) # open files? (not sure if this is easy or not w/o googling) 
3) memory/swap
4) others? 
Could be tied to Bug 11361 since Markus wants to add this information to buildstats.
