Description Ross Burton 2017-08-03 13:43:03 UTC
It would be a lot faster if pure python (ie no C) modules could just be installed into the sysroot without having to build python3-native.

If we export PYTHONPATH=$SYSROOT/$libdir/python3/site-packages/ then Python will look in the right place.

The hard bit will be changing distutils3-base so that it doesn't unconditionally inherit python3native.

Clarification: this is for native packages only. For target we want to depend on python3native so we can build pyc with the right version of Python.
