build locally on my machine, no such error: steps: bitbake oprofile test env host :ubuntu 10.10 x86_64 linux kernel :2.6.35-28-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP We need the config.log file from this build. It looks like some kind of race issue. Was binutils built before oprofile (and is binutils correctly in the DEPENDS of oprofile?) I think this is a timing and ordering issue, it's not repeatable consistently. And, yes oprofile does depend on binutils I just took another look at this after it failed on the M2 build. I think the problem is that both gcc and binutils are providing libiberty and hence conflicting in the sysroot during the build. If we remove libiberty from gcc's packaging, I suspect we'll stop seeing this bug. (In reply to comment #4) > I just took another look at this after it failed on the M2 build.
