Description Chen Qi 2017-10-16 01:54:25 UTC
We've changed tools required by ptest to be conditionally included like below.

HOSTTOOLS += "${@['', 'ip ping ps scp ssh stty'][bb.data.inherits_class('testimage', d)]}"

It turns out that users have the need to do ssh git fetching. Thus this changes causes error for them.

We have to enable ssh by default.

In addition, we have change our doc (QuickStart) to add the package that provides 'ssh' to the default required list.

e.g.

We now have in QuickStart:

Ubuntu and Debian

     $ sudo apt-get install gawk wget git-core diffstat unzip texinfo gcc-multilib \
     build-essential chrpath socat cpio python python3 python3-pip python3-pexpect \
     xz-utils debianutils iputils-ping libsdl1.2-dev xterm

We have to add 'openssh-client' into the above list.
Comment 1 Chen Qi 2017-10-16 01:58:50 UTC
The 'ssh' might be better to be added to HOSTTOOLS_NONFATAL, as discussed on mailing list.

So there's no need to change the QuickStart.

    bitbake.conf: add ssh to HOSTTOOLS_NONFATAL

    We changed to make tools required by testimage to be included conditionally.
    This resulted in users who use ssh for git fetching having failures.

    Add ssh to HOSTTOOLS_NONFATAL to make things work for the above situation.
