Description yeoh ee peng 2018-01-18 07:42:43 UTC
While running qemuarm using core-image-sato-sdk, runqemu show an unexpected message:

vpb_sic_write: Bad register offset 0x2c

After bootup qemuarm, running "shutdown -h now", qemu hang/stuck while shutting down, need to manually click on the "x" button to close the qemu.

I think this means that the shutdown register isn't implemented in QEMU. Since there is a simple workaround this isn't something we'd address as a priority and is likely an upstream qemu implementation that is missing.

Issue is still persist in 2.6M4RC1 release.
Comment 3 pankaj yadav 2018-12-13 06:12:47 UTC
Issue is reproducible in 2.5.2RC1 QA.
Comment 4 Jon Mason 2019-03-18 23:12:12 UTC
In 2.7 M3, we are modifying qemuarm to use a different CPU (Arm Cortex A15) and platform (virt). The issue in this bug is not present on this setup. So, I'm closing this as "Won't fix".
Comment 5 yeoh ee peng 2019-03-22 06:57:29 UTC
Test run on 2.7 M3 verified that qemuarm now can shutdown as expected.
