Summary: [2.2.4.rc1][BSP Auto] [genericx86-64 on MMAX64bit] [test_parselogs] blk_update_request: I/O error, dev loop0
Product: [Build System, Metadata & Runtime] BSPs Reporter: pankaj yadav <pankaj-y>
Component: bsps-runtimeAssignee: Bruce Ashfield <bruce.ashfield>
Status: RESOLVED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: Undecided CC: ee.peng.yeoh, richard.purdie, yp.kernel.watcher, yp.watcher
Version: 2.2.4
Target Milestone: ---

OS type for building Yocto: --- Type of Regression: ---
Verified: Documentation change: No (bug/feature does not impact docs)

Description pankaj yadav 2018-07-12 10:15:05 UTC
Please follow below mentioned steps to reproduce :

Step1 : Write the image to a bootable media (USB key, SD Card, etc.) using the dd command:
sudo dd if=core-image-sato-sdk-genericx86-64.hddimg of=/dev/sdb
Attach the bootable device to the DUT
Turn the DUT on, and use its boot options to select the correct media for booting
Ensure the device has a network connection and a valid IP address
Step 2 : Clone poky repo $git clone git://git.yoctoproject.org/poky ( git checkout )
Step 3 : go to poky directory
Step 4 : Modify local.conf
INHERIT += "testimage"
TEST_TARGET = "simpleremote"
TEST_SERVER_IP = "10.221.183.11"
TEST_TARGET_IP = "10.221.70.157"
PARALLEL_MAKE = "-j 64"
BB_NUMBER_THREADS = "64"

Step 5 : run "bitbake rpm busybox curl run-postinsts" and "bitbake package-index" under build directory
Step 6 :
Download Artifacts
there are 2 links available from Public AutoBuilder to download images
http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/releases/
https://autobuilder.yocto.io/pub/releases/

Artifacts to be downloaded are:
Real HW
under folder machines/<MACHINE_UNDER_TEST>

<IMAGE_TO_BE_TESTED>.hddimg
<IMAGE_TO_BE_TESTED>.wic
<IMAGE_TO_BE_TESTED>.wic.bmap
<IMAGE_TO_BE_TESTED>.manifest
<IMAGE_TO_BE_TESTED>.testdata.json
example of <IMAGE_TO_BE_TESTED> name core-image-sato-sdk-genericx86-64
Put downloaded images under poky/genericx86-WIC/tmp/deploy/images/MACHINE_UNDER_TEST/ directory
expample of MACHINE_UNDER_TEST=  genericx86-64, etc
step 7 : run "bitbake core-image-sato-sdk -c testimage -v" under build directory

https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10455 has more info.

This was resolved in sumo with https://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?h=sumo&id=53078a00ceab5d6aaa61c77fcb73f0d4aa788e00 but this is too invasive to backport to morty so resolving as WONTFIX.
