Description Gary 2018-09-14 12:59:03 UTC
recipetool create throws

ERROR: Mismatch between setup.py output lines and number of fields

when there is an empty setup.py in a repo. recipetool exits and does not produce a recipe file.

Example:

$ recipetool create https://www.bro.org/downloads/binpac-0.50.tar.gz

The check appears to be in create_buildsys_python.py, get_setup_byline().

Presumably recipetool should just check file exists and isn't empty. No idea why shipping an empty setup.py is sensible though. That tarball uses cmake, fwiw.
