Description hummerbliss 2019-03-25 19:11:18 UTC
Hello,

I was trying follow the instructions at https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/TipsAndTricks/Building_core-image-minimal_on_AWS
to see if I can build using yocto's sstate.

I do see bunch of set scene operations going on however when it comes to host native packages they all seem to be compiled from source.

I did try 2.4 and 2.6 versions but no luck.

I do note that unnative is being used.

Somebody suggested on IRC to open a bug. Please let me know if you need more information.

Robert,
Please test against the lastest 2.5.x release to see if if this problem still exists. Once you figure out if the problem is reporoducible either send a patch or discuss the bug on the list (as I'm sure you'd likely do without me suggesting that! ).

sstate sizes vary wildly at http://sstate.yoctoproject.org/. I'm curious if releases that work as expected are in the larger directories.

The sstate is public now so this should Just Work.

hummerbliss@gmail.com does this work for you now?
Comment 5 Randy MacLeod 2022-12-08 16:08:54 UTC
This seems to work for the Yocto project and others.
There have been lots of changes in sstate, hash equivalence and so on so re-test and re-open if you still have a problem.
