Description Richard Purdie 2019-05-02 13:39:37 UTC
A modified version of pybootchart is included/used in OE-Core to analyse our build performance charts. It currently uses python2 which is problematic and it should be updated to python3. This may involve patches from its upstream, fixing the issues ourselves or if there are other alternatives those could also be considered, the end result is to drop the py2 dependency (and hence the dependency on py2-cairo) which would allow automated testing on the autobuilder (which has py3-cairo).

newer version upstream we need to integrate to pick up pr3 changes.

also include bug fixes.

the big task will be to covert to GTK3.. gtk2 is not supported by python3. This is well outside my wheelhouse.

If you want this converted, you will need someone else to work on it as I have spent enough of my free time on this and it does not appeal to me either.

No problem, I wasn't asking so much as highlighting we had a problem here to get the manual tests moved forward. I hadn't realised the gtk 2/3 issue, thanks for highlighting that.

The tool is incredibly useful if you've ever tried to visualise timings in the build process but I appreciate its not something everyone ever needs.
