I have a WIP patch which changes the Brought-in-by column to list all items which brought the package in, not just the first. The WIP patch can be seen at: https://github.com/incandescant/bitbake/commit/b3902ac3283e6d3677560a02049255aff6b664bf I implemented what I felt was the spirit of this bug, rather than the actual request, in the following commit: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=b6009b295267cb991eb5efbe863ed4e4c99fb715 As described in the commit header I've changed the code to track all packages which bring the item in (i.e. depend on it). I'd be curious to know if you feel this addresses the clarity issue? It's certainly removed some burdensome logic from the code by dropping the expensive find_alt_dependency() method. I've looked and it definitely shows the packages dependency relationships much better Great. So does that resolve this issue? Yes, I think we can mark this bug resolved and just fix those several bugs relating to the details of brought in by list Verified against latest master |
