Description Michael Opdenacker 2021-08-11 08:34:02 UTC
Greetings,

The RELEASENOTES files have a wrong content type: [application/octet-stream]
instead of [text/plain]:

wget http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases/yocto/yocto-3.1.10/RELEASENOTES
--2021-08-11 10:26:15-- http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases/yocto/yocto-3.1.10/RELEASENOTES
Resolving downloads.yoctoproject.org (downloads.yoctoproject.org)... 198.145.29.63
Connecting to downloads.yoctoproject.org (downloads.yoctoproject.org)|198.145.29.63|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 6532 (6.4K) [application/octet-stream]
Saving to: ‘RELEASENOTES’

Because of that, you cannot directly view the release notes in a browser. You have to open them through a text editor. This is a bit annoying

I see two possible solutions:
- Modify the webserver configuration, so that all the releases/yocto/yocto-*/RELEASENOTES files
- Or rename RELEASENOTES to RELEASENOTES.txt

Cheers,
Michael.

I've changed the default type for RELEASENOTES and it's working as you describe in wget and Firefox.
