Description Randy MacLeod 2024-11-01 21:28:13 UTC
Initial login and browser cache of password for
valkyrie.autobuilder.org fails unless you press enter!

This may not be worth fixing unless some of the small number of people who have login permissions for the AB, trip over it. I may report it to buildbot.

Halstead sent me a new password for the new valkyrie.yoctoproject.org AB front-end. I copied my username and password from the email to the site UI using my mouse and the middle button as all sensible true linux folks do. Since I was using the mouse, I clicked on the login buttone and things happened but the browser pop-up that asks if you want to cache the password flashed by and I was returned to the login window with a blank username and password.

It happened with both Firefox and Chromium. I tried twice even!

Michael tried my credentials and told me that it worked for him so
I tried again and this time, I randomly decided to press the keyboard enter key rather than click the login button and ... it worked! My login creds were cached and I could logout and login again without manually typing my password.

I suspected some plugin/extention for Firefox but the same issue happened with Chromium and that's a vanilla config.

Firefox: 131.0.3 on Pop!Os Linux
Chromium: 130.0.6723.58 on Pop!Os Linux

Odd, very odd.

Randy should still report this to buildbot upstream.
