Description Antonin Godard 2025-01-22 08:03:42 UTC
The discussion on https://lists.yoctoproject.org/g/yocto-patches/topic/110717737 pointed out that the BitBake documentation is lacking details on the parsing order between classes, classes-recipe and classes-global. This leads to unexpected behavior when overlaying classes from another layer.

Add details about the parsing order and caveats.

Hello,

I've added docs to clarify this bug:
https://git.openembedded.org/bitbake/commit/?id=7bd36f6c6d33211bb2a6b6fc6d40bdbd83b8b7c3

I'm closing this bug as it answers the questions raised here. Namely the parsing order between classes-recipe, classes-global and classes.
