ptest logs

Here is a tarball of the logs as they failed on the AB, for some quick triage of just how badly they broke. I had to cut down some of the logs so they'd be small enough to be uploaded.

My runs were on qemux86-64/clang so this list is a bit bigger than that

libc-test - I have discussed these failures with musl maintainer and concluded that the problem were in the tests not libc. Perhaps we should skip the failing tests and make it pass the rest

strace: Hangs on some cases

elfutils: They seem to have assumption on ELF section order but needs further investigations

gettext: Since we use internal libintl from musl we see these failures

python3: ['test_null_dlsym', 'test_makedev', 'python3'] are showing up on my
builds too and perhaps due to how python uses dlopen IIRC

logrotate: test-0112.sh fails need more investigations

findutils: tests/find/user-group-max.sh fails because it gets single quotes around correct group value returned wrong and strings do not match and test is marked fail. Don't know why, perhaps UTF stuff

busybox: Fails in awk_gsub_erroneous_word_start_match needs more triaging

bluez5: Its a crash in a utility while running a test IIRC and seems to be happening on musl, it needs more investigation

lttng-tools: Failures are around poll/epoll/epoll_wait

Following do not fail for me on qemux86-64/clang

curl, python3-rpds-py, coreutils, Slang,glib-2.0, lua, gawk, perl

Are there any updates in the last month or so?
I'll bump this to M2 assuming that this is still a problem.
Comment 10 Richard Purdie 2026-04-02 15:31:12 UTC
We added testing on the autobuilder for this. The current exclusion list is:

https://git.openembedded.org/openembedded-core/tree/meta/conf/distro/include/ptest-packagelists.inc#n160

# These tests don't yet pass for musl qemuarm64
PTESTS_SLOW:remove:libc-musl:qemuarm64 = "strace perl gnutls glib-2.0"
PTESTS_FAST:remove:libc-musl:qemuarm64 = "libarchive"
PTESTS_PROBLEMS:append:libc-musl:qemuarm64 = "strace perl gnutls glib-2.0 libarchive"
