Run this manual test on ADL-S platform, but also facing same issue on BTL & ARL-H platforms as well.
Comment 2 Randy MacLeod 2025-06-26 14:44:24 UTC
Ross may look at this after his vacation but if someone else wants to investigate, please go ahead and assign it to yourself.
Comment 3 Richard Purdie 2025-07-02 22:46:02 UTC
We need to bisect where this issue was introduced. Would also be helpful to know if the gstreamer upgrades in master-next help the issue at all...

Running from a terminal in qemu gives some interesting looking clues:

Comment 5 Richard Purdie 2025-07-17 13:19:14 UTC
Patch sent to add -rdynamic to TARGET_LDFLAGS in the recipe which solves the immediate issue.

In discussion with Ross, "the underlying fix is to add gmodule-export to the meson.build" which we should really discuss with upstream.
Comment 6 Randy MacLeod 2025-08-07 17:51:45 UTC
-rdynamic change is:
https://git.openembedded.org/openembedded-core/commit/?id=5571061e26a98804670b0d39b86f3b3b205061b1

There hasn't been a follow-up commit so bumping to M3:
❯ gl  -3 meta/recipes-multimedia/gstreamer
654f3ed7ec   2025-07-17   gst-examples: Fix buttons in gtk-play at runtime
e13a21e772   2025-07-02   gst-examples: upgrade 1.26.2 -> 1.26.3
f1f1ebd5e5   2025-06-30   gstreamer1.0-vaapi: upgrade 1.26.2 -> 1.26.3
Comment 7 Ross Burton 2025-10-22 13:24:48 UTC
We have a workaround for this since 654f3ed7ec, closing.
