Some has already been done on this and is documented here: https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/Minimal_Image I have incorporated these ideas in: http://git.infradead.org/users/dvhart/meta-tiny.git As well as adding linux-yocto-tiny which removes perf and KERNEL_FEATURES and provides a space for me to work with config fragments. TODOs: o Make busybox more configurable from recipe space o Make qemu know how to deal with non /dev/sda type names, ie 0800 o Document analyzing FS and kernel sizes to pinpoint things to eliminate o ... more to come poky-tiny is now in master. There is sure to be some follow-up work based on user feedback, etc. New bugs should be opened to address specific issues remaining with poky-tiny. |
