UI skeleton was under review and we got some feedbacks. General speaking, the UI is too complicated. Will ping Belen to help on UX design. QA will check if the basic funtions of UI skelecton could work in M1. Assign it to Belen for UX design A design proposal is available in the wiki: https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/File:Hob1.2-screencast1.mov There seems to be agreement on the design approach shown by the video. I am currently working on the subsequent steps of the image building process. Hi Belen, Really like the design approach, very clean with highlight on the main thing while still provides control flexibilities to the user. Couple comments based on the video on some minor issues: 1. So are we going to show "My Images" button besides "Settings" even before user making a selection of machine? From the video, seems the flow should be after making the machine selection, in the image drop down list, you have "select from my images" option 2. You have "build packages" or "Just Bake". So can we change "Just Bake" to "Build Image"? IMHO, it is much clearer to the user what's the difference. And it's consistent with what in my images view, the button is called "Build" instead of "Bake" I think things are coming along really nicely, and once we implement your UX design, we'll have some killer app. Really looking forward to it. Thanks, Jessica Hi Jessica, Thanks for the great feedback. I'll keep in mind your comments for the next steps. Belen No further UI skeleton need. But need someone to draw visual elements, e.g. icons. But it is not for Belen. I will passing a list of required visual assets to graphic design this week. I am also working on designs for the remaining screens in the image build flow (building recipes, packages, making image and image done). We might not be able to fully implement them, but still they might spark some useful discussion. the design is done. Mark it as Done. |
