Description Darren Hart 2011-11-29 15:05:00 UTC
When do_patch requires user input, the build will just appear to hang if a screen terminal is used. With devshell you'll see a log message telling you to connect to the screen session, something like that would make it clear that no more progress will be made until some user intervention occurs.

This is a bit of a puzzle since they call the same code which both output the same warning:

NOTE: Executing RunQueue Tasks
NOTE: Running task 10 of 10 (ID: 1, /media/build1/poky/meta/recipes-extended/bash/bash_4.2.bb, do_patch)
NOTE: package bash-4.2-r1: task do_patch: Started
WARNING: Screen started. Please connect in another terminal with "screen -r devshell"

Any further tips to reproduce?

Oh boy. I suppose it's possible that with BB_NUMBER_THREADS=24 that I just lost this message in the noise. I suspect that is the case. Suggest closing as not a bug unless anyone else has observed this behavior.

I'll go for WORKSFORME. If anyone does run into it they can reopen this.
