I am creating a new chapter in the YP Dev manual entitled "Common Tasks". This chapter is going to eventually contain usage information that is currently in the YP Reference Manual. To address this bug I will have sections that describe isolated examples for creating a .bbappend file and a configuration fragment. That sounds exactly like what I was looking for Scott, Cheers. Created a new section called "Understanding and Using Layers" in the YP Development manual. Inside the section is another section called "Using .bbappend Files." This section, along with several other edit passes through the manual should provide information on how to use a .bbappend file. To see how .bbappend is treated throughout the dev manual, see the latest version at http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/latest/dev-manual/dev-manual.html. Scott |
