Description Jim A 2012-01-19 07:59:11 UTC
I just built a new development pc and installed Ubuntu 11.10 x64 using btrfs for the file system and SOFTRAID 0. I got a bitbake error right off, but then it complete the first 63 task and stopped successfully. error below:

        jim@ubuntu:~/poky/build-cdv$ bitbake core-image-sato
Pseudo is not present but is required, building this first
        before the main build
        Parsing recipes: 100%
        |#############################____####################| Time:
        00:00:25

Parsing of 797 .bb files complete (0 cached, 797 parsed). 1037
        targets, 22 skipped, 0 masked, 0 errors.
ERROR: Execution of event handler 'run_buildstats' failed
        Traceback (most recent call last):

        assignment

I rebuilt the system with EXT4 and SOFTRAID 0 as the file system and things worked fine. there is a lot of discussion on this issue on the mailing list. Title is: build failure on ubuntu 64bits development system

I will have to build up a development system with btrfs again to test. This
will not happen for a few weeks due to my schedule. It's low priority
since the workaround is to not use btrfs. It was more of a test and not a
requirement. I'll let you know what I find.

Also, is there a branch that has this patch that I could test against instead? Not sure which is the best approach. I'm not a developer on the level of most people involved in Yocto.
Comment 3 Jim A 2012-01-20 14:47:10 UTC
I cloned poky-contrib and checked out josh/edison. I did NOT get the error using that version with btrfs file system. So I'd say it's fixed.
