Also occurs for nightly arm: http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org:8010/builders/nightly-arm/builds/427 Caused by the following change: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=2fa80ef30e8f806c4604f87fce84df6a5402a05b I'm nervous as the commit log talks about RPM only but clearly this affects other package manager back ends. It looks like dpkg mandates a version number that starts with a digit: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=620566 Newer dpkg has a --force-bad-version to ignore this: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=620566#172 We can likely backport this change: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=dpkg/dpkg.git;a=commit;h=6d50a5ac6ae54f4374070e5849070530a6d57a49 If needed in Denzil, or just update dpkg? Potential fix
The attached patch is a back-port from a change upstream which looks to address this issue.
With the patch applied I can build the eglibc deb package but a do_rootfs fails... I'm not yet certain if this is a by-product of the patch or not.

Rootfs failure log with patch applied
This is my do_rootfs log for a core-image-minimal with the dpkg change applied.
This is against an old release that no longer being supported, please open new bugs against latest releases if it still an issue |
