This issue is related with bug 2434. Robert's patches set the maximum length of TMPDIR to 410. But when I create a build directory and make the length of TPMPDIR to 410. The qt4 build failed:

I hadn't tested the qt4 when I was working on the too long path, it would be great if someone who is familiar with qt4 building takes this bug, or I will take it.

This should be fixed with the following patch by Chen Qi that has now been merged:
