"/srv/home/pokybuild/yocto-autobuilder/yocto-slave/nightly-arm/build/build/tmp/sysroots/x86_64-linux/usr/bin/python is needed by libglib-2.0-utils-2.32.4-r1.armv5te" Martin Jansa has a patch that reverts a commit upstream ("[OE-core] [PATCH] glib-2.0: revert one commit in target recipe"). I suspect this is a RPM-specific problem because only RPM embeds filename dependencies like this. Moral of the story: build images with both RPM and opkg when testing.
