Fixed in local system. Need to push. gettext should not be needed? Darren: What failed due to a lack of that? o ERROR: '/home/dvhart/intel/source/poky/poky.git/meta/recipes-support/attr/attr_2.4.44.bb' failed real 66m8.339s user 291m28.630s sys 43m13.330s | FATAL ERROR: msgfmt does not seem to be installed. | attr cannot be built without a working gettext installation. | FATAL: oe_runconf failed NOTE: package attr-2.4.44-r1: task do_configure: Failed My solution, install msgfmt via "gettext" package. This should have been fixed with: http://git.pokylinux.org/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=1d7c9a9828747f6d58b141af685633d69f896baa (In reply to comment #4) > This should have been fixed with: > http://git.pokylinux.org/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=1d7c9a9828747f6d58b141af685633d69f896baa I don't see how, the context still reads: DEPENDS =+ "gettext" And it still searches for various gettext provided tools, it just does so without specific PATHs. Did I miss something in that change? +- AC_PATH_PROG(MSGFMT, msgfmt,, /usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/freeware/bin) ++ AC_PATH_PROG(MSGFMT, msgfmt) i.e. before it searched in the path mentioned above for the tool and after the patch it should find it in the poky native sysroot as it searches PATH unmodified. Its in the native sysroot since there is "gettext" in DEPENDS and gettext depends on gettext-native so the tools *are* available in the native sysroot. Oh I see, gettext doesn't have to be installed on the build system itself. Poky builds a native version of it and uses that. Scott, please omit gettext from the packages I requested to add to the required list. These packages are now listed in the documentation in the Yocto Project Quick Start. |
