Paul Suggested that enhance bitbake-layers to figure out the LAYERDEPENDS, here are some basic thoughts:

1) Add a command "show-depends" for bitbake-layers.

2) It is not used for showing the LAYERDEPENDS which has been defined in the layer.conf, but for figuring out the LAYERDEPENDS, for example, if the recipe_A from layer_A depends on the recipe_B which is from layer_B, then layer_A should depend on layer_B, it should walk all the recipes in the layer.

3) The LAYERDEPENDS is made by two parts "layer_name:layer_version", it seems not easy to figure out the layer_version, we can refer the LAYERVERSION, but it may not accurate, for example, if layer_A depends on layer_B, and layer_B's LAYERSION = 3, we can't assume that layer_A's "LAYERDEPENDS = layer_B:3", I think that we just figure out the layer_name is OK.

Hi Paul,

Would you please help me to take a look at the draft design ? (The first comment in the upstairs)

I'm not sure that we actually need to figure out a value for LAYERDEPENDS here - we just need to be able to determine where there is a dependency between recipes that crosses a layer boundary and report that.

Thanks, Paul, I will send the patch sooner.

no error when run following command:
1. source path_to_git/oe-init-build-env build_dir
2. bitbake-layers show-cross-depends
