Ogg Theora video I presume. How did you play video? (In reply to comment #1) > Ogg Theora video I presume. How did you play video? Open video application -> add .ogg file to it -> play (This works on previous versions on the same board. But this time, there's no sound.) "There's no sound." --> "There's only sound." What Video application? core-image-sato only comes with a music player, so presumably you're installing something else when doing QA. I think it does have a default video player because the application's icon is on desktop (with the name of "video"). I didn't install anything else. Ah, that's probably the owl-av demo. Not sure why I can't see it in my image. So for reference, that's GStreamer with Playbin2 or Playbin (probably Playbin2). From a command line, try: $ gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///path/to/test/video.ogv Any output from gst-launch would be useful. (In reply to comment #7) > From a command line, try: > > $ gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///path/to/test/video.ogv > > Any output from gst-launch would be useful. Here is the output: #################### root@beagleboard:~# gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///home/root/test-cases/mulitimedia/video/video.ogg Setting pipeline to PAUSED ... Pipeline is PREROLLING ... Pipeline is PREROLLED ... Setting pipeline to PLAYING ... New clock: GstAudioSinkClock Got EOS from element "playbin20". Execution ended after 31516967772 ns. Setting pipeline to PAUSED ... Setting pipeline to READY ... Setting pipeline to NULL ... Freeing pipeline ... root@beagleboard:~# ################## No video output but the audio is OK. Can you attach the output of "gst-inspect". I have a hunch. Created attachment 966 [details]
gst-inspect output with 20121114 build

gst-inspect output with 1.3
I also attached a gst-inspect output for 1.3. There is no this issue in 1.3. I diffed these 2 output files and found there was missing 1 plugin: "ximagesink: ximagesink: Video sink" in 20121114 build.
Yes, that was my hunch. Thanks. gstreamer was changed to split the x11 packages into a separate meta group, but it's not installed anywhere. Fix sent to oe-core. Fixed in oe-core master 84956b59ba828c88ede0c2d77c90b59330bcab68. Verified with master branch git commit: 90c0eb29f0b41e4ac2d3d17ebad7295c2ebdc02a |
