Description Alexandru Georgescu 2012-11-20 10:27:14 UTC
The 1.3 version of eclipse-plugin cannot be installed in Indigo due to some dependency problems.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Follow the adt-eclipse documentation for Indigo: http://www.yoctoproject.org/docs/1.3/dev-manual/dev-manual.html#adt-eclipse (section 4.2.2.1.3).

1. Download Eclipse Indigo. I used eclipse-SDK-3.7.2-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz version.

2. Configure Eclipse Indigo according to the documentation for Indigo (section 4.2.2.1.3).

3. After all the plugins are installed, try to install Eclipse Plugin 1.3 by following: http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases/eclipse-plugin/1.3 (section 4.2.2.1.4.1).

EXPECTED RESULTS

3. Eclipse plugin can be installed

ACTUAL RESULTS

3. Eclipse plugin cannot be installed. The following dependenct error appear in Eclipse:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Yocto Plugin for Eclipse 1.2.0.201210102158 (org.yocto.sdk.feature.group 1.2.0.201210102158)
Missing requirement: Yocto Plugin IDE 1.2.0.201210102158 (org.yocto.sdk.ide 1.2.0.201210102158) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.cdt.autotools.core 1.1.0' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: Yocto Plugin for Eclipse 1.2.0.201210102158 (org.yocto.sdk.feature.group 1.2.0.201210102158)
    To: org.yocto.sdk.ide 0.0.0

OTHER COMMENTS
Works fine using http://downloads.yoctoproject.org/releases/eclipse-plugin/1.2 version of Eclipse Plugin. The error appears only on using 1.3 link.

ENVIRONMENT USED
Tested on a Ubuntu 12.10 64bit machine.

This is due to we probably didn't build the Indigo version of plug-in. The 1.3 plugin is only for Juno.

This is accurate. I guess I'd like to know if we're still going to support Indigo? If not, then this is not a bug. If so, then we will have to add another build to the ab.
Comment 3 Jessica 2013-03-07 19:27:42 UTC
We will drop Indigo support
