Description Diego 2013-07-29 13:57:31 UTC
By default the Vivante X11 driver is configured to use 16bpp, as can be read in the Xorg.0.log.

    [4142552.927] (II) VIVANTE(0): Creating default Display subsection in Screen section
        "Default Screen Section" for depth/fbbpp 16/16
    [4142552.927] (==) VIVANTE(0): Depth 16, (==) framebuffer bpp 16
    [4142552.927] (==) VIVANTE(0): RGB weight 565
    [4142552.927] (==) VIVANTE(0): Default visual is TrueColor

If on the contrary the xorg.conf is configured to specify 24bpp color depth with "DefaultDepth 24" the server seems to start correctly at a first glance in the log, but then it crashes and nothing is displayed on screen.

Tested on Boundary Devices' Nitrogen6x. Tested BSPs: 3.0.35-1.1.0; 3.0.35-4.0.0; 3.5.7-1.0.0

According to suggestion by Freescale the "bpp=32" parameter is required to run X in 24 bits mode.
