Description Tom Zanussi 2013-10-03 16:32:35 UTC
Yocto-bsp is based on an underlying templating mechanism that uses special characters for text replacement. e.g. {{=}}

It's convenient to be able to use those characters in file and directory names as well. Using those characters in filenames have raised many eyebrows for some reason, although they're perfectly legal.

They actually cause problems though when people try to look at them on other popular but less-capable 'operating systems' and for certain aspects of the project that's become an important thing to want to do.

So, remove those characters from file and directory names and replace them with sentinals using more common characters.
