Description CrazyPandar 2013-10-13 11:52:52 UTC
I'm using archlinux x86_64. The tar utility version is 1.27.
Bitbake failed when using tar option -c and -ps together.

See the output

[chunfeng@haha build]$ bitbake core-image-minimal
Pseudo is not present but is required, building this first before the main build

This is a known issue with the latest version of tar, since ArchLinux is a rolling release we can not directly support it. There is a patch pending for this issue that will go into master soon.

The workaround is either to downgrade that patch or to use the buildtools-tarball which contains the correct version of tar.

Fixed in master with http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?id=bf19a8617d05f17506dcb7154e19e2aa2b61838b and the preceding patch.
