Description Stoicescu Cornel 2014-02-18 10:36:32 UTC
BUILD: 1.6_M3_RC1:b70a10ca3ee4a0add90d387e2c8288e531aaa47c
ENVIRONMENT: MinnowBoard
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1) Use 'dd' utility to copy the minnowboard .hddimg to USB stick
2) install the image on a MinnowBoard using the boot-able USB stick
3) After installation, do not remove USB stick from board
4) Select MMC filesystem from UEFI boot

EXPECTED OUTCOME: Installed system can boot up from MMC

ACTUAL OUTCOME: As long as boot-able USB stick is connected to the board, the GRUB menu will always show both the "boot" and "install" options and will boot from USB stick, regardless of the filesystem selected from UEFI boot.

NOTE: Removing the USB stick from the board will leave only the MMC filesystem available and GRUB will only show the "boot" options and correctly boot from MMC filesystem.

This is expected behavior. The firmware remembers the last boot and optimizes for that. To break out of that loop, remove the boot drive and reconfigure the boot configuration. See the Minnow README for details.
