Description Alexandru Georgescu 2014-03-27 11:43:45 UTC
Commit id: It was a 1.4.3 rebuild which contained the following commit: http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky/commit/?h=dylan&id=465a8605191e39be443fe999619a034ae49889d8

When starting BA, an error appears informing the user that the make version in BA is broken (see attachment).

Looking in meta/recipes-devtools/make/ I saw that there is no make_3.82.bb recipe in there.

Other comments:
I could perform a successful build under BA.

Comment 2 Alexandru Georgescu 2014-03-27 11:46:27 UTC
I didn't mention that the version of make in the BA system is 3.82 (strange due to the fact that in meta/recipes-deftools/make/ make_3.82.bb doesn't exist
Comment 3 Richard Purdie 2014-03-27 15:19:24 UTC
Looks like a possible autobuilder issue building the wrong revision?
Comment 4 Paul Eggleton 2014-03-27 23:24:02 UTC
make 3.82 is present in dylan, however there must have been something wrong with how the build appliance was built, because one that I recently built from the dylan branch does have make 3.82 but does not produce this error.

So, this was built from:

http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/main/builders/build-appliance/builds/2

Let's look at the places things could have gone wrong on the AB/process.

First, make sure I copied the right one. This past weekends build was at:
http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/releases/yocto-1.4.3/build-appliance/
Yocto_Build_Appliance-20140322073828.zip

and the 1.4.3 build was at:

http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/pub/nightly/20140318-5/build-appliance/
Yocto_Build_Appliance-20140322073828.zip

So the file is in fact the one I had rebuilt this weekend.

So, let's check the revision:
The correct revision is fda1f07dddde5e2a082d90d19e6052b0223ef3f0

Looking at: http://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/main/builders/build-appliance/builds/2/steps/Git%20checkout%20of%20poky/logs/stdio tells me we did in fact get the right revision. the git reset does reset to that rev.

We even see this in BuildImages:

Build Configuration:
BB_VERSION        = "1.18.0"
BUILD_SYS         = "x86_64-linux"
NATIVELSBSTRING   = "Fedora-19"
TARGET_SYS        = "x86_64-poky-linux"
MACHINE           = "qemux86-64"
DISTRO            = "poky"
DISTRO_VERSION    = "1.4.3"
TUNE_FEATURES     = "m64"
TARGET_FPU        = ""
meta
meta-yocto
meta-yocto-bsp    = "dylan:fda1f07dddde5e2a082d90d19e6052b0223ef3f0"

That said, the issue is, I built this with SRCREV_pn-build-appliance-image = "${AUTOREV}". This build was supposed to just be a git fetcher test build (which is why this wasn't set up right). So, I'll have a new one for you in a few hours.
Comment 6 Beth Flanagan 2014-03-28 03:18:18 UTC
Ok, the new BA should be in place. Please verify that it is the correct one.
