The current stable branch is 1.8.x which is the recommended version for most purposes. The 1.6.x branch is now considered to be outdated (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/dbus/2014-January/016092.html).

Highlights:

Hello,

I built a core-image-sato image from latest master commit (894df445fa71a170397c6e0b4960a89ef20a4230) and checked the dbus version. Dbus version is 1.8.2.
