Description Catalin Scrieciu 2014-04-04 13:00:32 UTC
While running the tools on target tests we discovered an issue when executing the "perf top" command"

root@qemuppc:~#perf top

Failed to open /tmp/perf-485.map, continuing without symbols

After the message above is displayed no prompt is returned and the target freezes.

Does this only fail on PPC?
Comment 3 Alexandra Safta 2014-04-10 14:51:12 UTC
Yes, this worked fine on QemuARM.
Comment 4 Darren Hart 2014-04-10 14:52:31 UTC
This does work on x86 for me, this appears to be ppc specific. Enea, can you dig into this some more?
Comment 5 Chunrong Guo 2014-05-13 03:06:57 UTC
"perf top" command work well on p1022ds.
I think this is about qemppc kernel issue.
Comment 6 Catalin Scrieciu 2014-06-10 09:25:17 UTC
We at Enea have encountered the same issue in our Yocto based distribution also and this will be investigated in the near future. The investigation of this bug will be included in one of the next sprints. We will get back with information regarding this.
