This issue should be fixed at MNW2_IFWI_X64_D_2014_05_29_1410_SecEnabled.bin drop, Darren, please help to verify on your side. thanks.. Darren, since currently the issue worked well on my side, could you please give me a little bit detail why it don't work to autodetect and boot on your side? I will look into the issue. I have verified that the current OS images boot automatically on first boot on the Intel NUC, but do not on the MinnowMax. My most recent tests have been over the USB 3.0 port. Expectation would be that from power off, after inserting a USB key with a valid EFI or FAT32 partition with the path: /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI That the firmware would bring up a boot menu that includes this path. The same should be the case for SD and SATA. The menu should also the option to Boot to the EFI shell. I have verified the issue with the latest image (MNW2_IFWI_X64_R_2014_07_02_1150_SecEnabled.bin). the firmware can auto boot with USB, SATA and Sdcard. One thing we should make clear is that we must insert one device media(sdcard or usb or SATA)when we start up system at the first time after flashing bios image. if without any device media for OS, the system will enter UEFI shell directly at the first time boot, in this case, the bios have saved the boot order as that UEFI shell is first boot option. then the next time boot, the system should boot to UEFI shell even if you insert device media for OS. Need Darren to test and verify the bug. This does work per the original bug description. I have verified. |
