When inherit python3native/pythonnative and cross compile for 32bits from 64bits host this compile error is raised:

Can you give us more details about what exactly you are trying to build such as MACHINE target, including SDK_MACHINE and any other changes to your local.conf that might be helpful.

Is this failure on the pyotherside recipe?  If so we need to get this narrowed down to what's going wrong in oe-core.  I tried to do a build and got a qt5/qtbase failure.  If you can do some additional, we need to understand where LONG_BIT is getting set prior to the pyport.h, possible miss-configuration or host contamination.

This is native and should remain same bit size unless you are changing SDK_MACHINE.  32bit would be for the target.

Yes, this failure comes from pyotherside recipe.

What failure did you get on qt5/qtbase. If it helps here is my qtbase.bbappend:

I understand you are having troubles with building pyotherside which requires 
qt5, I am currently failing to build qtbase_5.2.1, which is blocking me,

My errors are:

Regarding the first issue in comment #5, it seems that might be an issue with 
your pyotherside recipe configuration. The reverting of a patch causing a 
failure  does not make sense, the patch was reverted for a reason

I'm going to take a look at pyotherside recipe and see if I need to add extra arguments do get Python.h found.

Ok. I've put commit 361ddb10de ("python3: Revert python-config to distutils.sysconfig") back and added the following on pyotherside recipe:
export BUILD_SYS
export HOST_SYS

export STAGING_LIBDIR
export STAGING_INCDIR


Now, pyotherside is building without any errors.

Could you please explain me why these exports are needed?

They are needed for cross compiling the python libraries correctly, some 
recipes need them and others do not.

Since you have it working now, I am going to close this as not a bug.
