Description Volker 2014-06-11 17:50:28 UTC
ntpdate installs a cron job in /var/spool/cron/root . That happens through the postinstallation script.

For such cronjobs /etc/cron.d/ was created. I would prefere adding a file /etc/cron.d/ntpdate-sync with the following (untested) content:
---
30 * * * * root /usr/bin/ntpdate-sync silent
---

There is also no cron daemon installed by default. I also didn't see it as suggestion.

Needs to go to owner for meta networking.

This bugzilla doesn't cover meta-openembedded so this shouldn't be filed here.
