Description Edwin Zhai 2011-02-16 22:46:39 UTC
When using remote sstate cache server, running native rpmbuild from sstate always complains invalid command line "--buildroot".
Comment 1 Edwin Zhai 2011-02-16 22:51:26 UTC
The reason is "--buidlroot" is just a command alias defined in a config file(rpmpopt), whose absolute path(under sysroot) is hard coded in rpmbuild.

So on different machine, the build directory is likely to be different that leads failure when looking for the file in the old hard coded directory.

One work around here is to create this hard coded directory on the new machine, and copy necessary config files to it.

Need a nice solution...

It seems that this issue is the same as BUG 668.

Mark once had a fix for rpm-native relocation issue.
See commit d71f6fff17e7a2bd5acd4339b26a2d3b28c76814.

So it doesn't work for rpm-build? CC Mark.

Thanks,

Great!

I used an old known-working changeset for my sstate test, where the fix is not in.

Marked it as duplicated of 668.

Thanks,
