Description Thomas McGuire 2015-05-28 13:00:10 UTC
core-image-weston fails to build out-of-the box on imx6qsabresd.

The failing package is weston, which fails with configure complaining about wayland-egl missing.
The root cause of this is in imx-gpu-viv.inc: When X11 is enabled in DISTRO_FEATURES, then wayland-egl.pc doesn't get installed.

Expected behavior is that core-image-weston should build without problems.

I don't know enough about Yocto to fix this myself. A quick workaround would be to remove X11 from DISTRO_FEATURES on core-image-weston, at least on meta-fsl-arm. Otherwise, at least add a warning/error in imx-gpu-viv.inc to warn the user when both X11 and Wayland DISTRO_FEATURES are set, as they are incompatible.

FYI, this is using the poky distribution from https://github.com/Freescale/fsl-community-bsp-platform, and I had the problem with the fido branch.

Yes, one can change the DISTRO_FEATURES in local.conf to fix this, but having it work out of the box would be much better, especially because hunting down the problem takes some time, as the cause is not obvious.
