Description Belen Barros Pena 2015-10-01 16:00:58 UTC
Toaster should support master, the local release, plus 2 releases. For 2.0, those 2 release should be jethro and fido, so the toasterconf.json files need updating.

There are 3 of those:

* The YP one in meta-yocto/conf
* The OE one in meta/conf
* and we have third one here:

https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/File:Toasterconf.json.txt.patch

But that one might be obsolete after recent changes. I am not sure.

hmm, I believe we need layers.openembedded.org to support jethro for this to work.
We use the branch info to decide what layers we have available.
We can do the update but jethro will be empty.

Paul Eggleton has created a Jethro branch in the layer index.

I think the manual should match the content of the real file. Right now, in this bit, the 'Local Yocto Project' layer source has several branches, but in the real file it has only one (HEAD). You can see the latest version of the file here

http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit/cgit.cgi/poky-contrib/tree/meta-yocto/conf/toasterconf.json?h=bavery/toaster/jethro_update_meta-yocto_8428

In the above two, the real file shows jethro before fido, although this is just nitpicking, to be honest. The order is probably not important.

This one has the same issue as the first one: the 'Local Yocto Project' layer source has several branches, but in the real file it has only one (HEAD).

Belen,

Sorry about that... I have cut and pasted the current bits into the examples and addressed the other two ordering issues. Please see the same links as in the previous comment and let me know if all is good.

Thanks,
Scott

I checked for master and jethro release and I observed that the 2 files toasterconf.json from meta/conf and meta-yocto/conf differs.

In meta/conf/toasterconf.json you have "branches": ["master", "fido", "dizzy", "HEAD"] and in meta-yocto/conf/toasterconf.json : "branches": ["master", "jethro","fido", "HEAD"]

Due to that I put this bug on reopened.

Yes the documentation is ok.
